Mercury Clinical Research Hosts a Fun-Filled Field Day in Houston

On May 9, 2025, the MCR team came together for something a little different from our usual day of advancing medicine… our very own Field Day! Held right here in Houston, this event was all about connection, laughter, and healthy competition.
The entire team took a break from the office and the clinic to enjoy a series of creative games designed to build camaraderie, communication, and teamwork. From the moment we started, the energy was high and the smiles were contagious.

Our Games of the Day
We went beyond the typical field-day activities, introducing games that challenged both our brains and our bodies:
-
- Find Your Pack– Each participant made animal noises to locate their “team,” sparking lots of laughter and instant bonding.
-
- Yacht Party– Listening carefully to numbers called out, participants had to group themselves quickly showing how survival sometimes depends on fast thinking and teamwork.
-
- Arrange Me– A communication heavy game where participants worked together to put themselves in the right order teamwork at its best.
-
- Up-Down Cup Game– Part race, part teamwork challenge.
-
- Grab and Go– A high-energy cup stacking relay that had everyone running and strategizing with their group.
-
- Rapid Fire Buckets- A test of athleticism and aim, as participants shot hoops under pressure.
-
- Tug of War– The classic showdown of pure strength and grit, drawing the whole team together in cheers.
Why We Do This

At Mercury Clinical Research, we’re passionate not just about advancing medicine but also about building a positive, collaborative culture for our team. Field Day gave our staff the opportunity to step out of their usual roles, break down barriers, and connect on a more personal level. These kinds of activities help build trust, improve communication, and boost morale; qualities that directly translate into better teamwork back in the clinic.
In fact, research shows that “teams that sweat together work better together.” Physical activities like these release endorphins, lower stress, and create shared experiences that strengthen bonds. A united, energized team doesn’t just enjoy their work more… they also deliver higher-quality results for our patients and sponsors.
Looking Ahead
Field Day 2025 was a reminder that at Mercury Clinical Research, we’re not just coworkers- we’re a strong, unified team. When we take the time to invest in our people, we’re also investing in the success of our studies and the well-being of the communities we serve.
Here’s to more moments of fun, connection, and collaboration in the future. Until next time… go Team MCR!
